Lewis A. Staib, 75, of Wintersville, OH died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Cumberland Pointe Nursing Center, St. Clairsville, OH. He was born in Steubenville, OH on June 17, 1936 a son of the late Lewis and Esther Rapp Staib. Lewis was retired from the Cardinal Plant as a maintenance engineer and also had worked at Trinity East as a boiler operator. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Weirton Moose, P.N.A. and Argonne Post 33. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Viola Babel Staib, 2nd wife Sondra Lindgren Staib and step-son Richard H. Stubbs. Lewis is survived by his son Robert “Bob” Staib and his fiancé Patricia Robertson of Mingo Junction, OH; brother James “Jim” (Sharon) Staib of Richmond, VA; aunts Margaret “Honey” Staib and Mary Downing both of Wintersville, OH; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH Friday from 5 – 8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, 10 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Ernst officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery where Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will perform military honors.

Bob, Words can't express the sorrow I have for the loss of your father. We became very good friends and I am going to miss him a great deal. We would have many chats (we solved all the problems) when I owned the Dog Leg Saloon, he was a Wonderful person. I will charish all the wonderful memories forever.
