Leo R. Bowman 87 of Steubenville, Ohio died Wednesday, December 25, 2002 at Trinity West, Steubenville. He was born in Cambridge, Ohio on October 17, 1915 a son of the late Frank and Lavera Pryor Bowman. He retired as an engineer from Ohio Bell after 37 years service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Leo was a Methodist by faith and was preceded in death by five brothers Cleston, Lewis, Roy, Frank and Floyd Bowman and one sister Ila Bates. Surviving are his wife Gladys Brothers Bowman; five sons Gary (Gail) Bowman of Hickory, NC, Donald Bowman of Columbus, Ohio, Ronald (Margaret) Bowman of Syracuse, NY, John (Kimberly) Bowman of Toronto, Ohio and David (Kristine) Bowman of Tallahassee, FL; one daughter Beverly Sullivan of Steubenville; 16 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one sister Iris Booth of Zanesville, Ohio. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Private burial.
