Leah Annette McGrew, born January 26, 1936, died April 18, 2025 at Gables Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley & Louise Ignace, brothers Stanley Jr., Walter, Bill, James & Joel, her husband Emerson and daughter Rhonda. She is survived by her sisters Roberta Burkhead and Kathy (Robert) Concato, brothers Jack (Patty) Ignace and Mark Ignace, son Eric (Alison) McGrew, granddaughter Meghan, great-grandson Evan, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Leah was a member of the Steubenville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She had been a baptized member of the congregation since June 26, 1942. In addition to caring for her family, Leah spent many years in the workforce. Her first job was with Ohio Nut and Washer. Following that she spent several decades as a secretary for Indian Creek School District, primarily at Buchanan Junior High.
Leah had many talents but was well known for her beautiful singing voice. She also had a great love for animals and flowers as evidenced by the garden and bird sanctuary surrounding the family home. Additionally, she and Emerson enjoyed visiting the horse farms in Kentucky.
Per Leah’s wishes, there are no services.
