Randy Heck wasn't just my friend or brother in arms, but I actually considered him part of my family. Blood couldn't have made us closer than what we were, are, and always will be in spirit. We thought so much a like that we were called "mind- twins". Not a day passed by, that we were in each others presence, when we didn't make someone's life miserable. My condolencses go out to our family members. I'm sorry I cannot be present for the service. Most of all I'm sorry for the loss of a family member.

To Randy's family; I am going to try to be present both for visitation and for Randy's funeral. Some of our family cannot be there but our hearts will be with him and you always. I will always remember his love for the Corps and his love of life in general. He was always smiling and I cherish the hello and goodbye hugs we shared when he would come to vist us at our house. We cheered him on in track season and when he served his country. We thoroughly enjoyed his performance on stage in Annie. He was my son Joshua's friend and he was like another son to me. He will be sorely missed but by his life and in his honor may we all live to be better people. I know God is with us all during these difficult days ahead and we will be forever changed because we knew and loved hime. God bless you all.

Randy, you were never one to pass up a practical joke or task that I needed done; somehow I keep thinking that this is a mistake, and you will smile that orny grin and say it's all right momma, I'll take care of it. Not this time, This time, we are here mourning your loss. A loss that feels so deep that we can't find the bottom. I know you would have made a great father just as you made a great solider. Semper Fe Randy Heck.

To Randy's Family: Our condolences on your loss, my son Andrew, a salior on USS Ashland, became friends with Randy during this tour (he is still at sea) he was very upset to hear about the loss of Randy his new friend, he did not know how to respond. So I am doing it for him. As a military family we know answers are slow to come, but the answer I beleive in is our son's love for this country, enough to enlist and serve the causes of freedom and human rights throughout the world. God Bless your family.

To the family of LCpl Randy Michael Heck, You may or may not know me, but Randy and I were inseparable friends throughout our senior year in high school. I considered him to be one of the brothers I never had. Though we had recently fallen out of contact with one another, I loved him like a brother. When I received the news of what had happened, I didn't believe it. The Randy I knew was immortal, nothing could harm him. He was an amazing friend, a wonderful person, and an incredible Marine. Should I pursue a career in the Marine Corps, which I have been considering for a long time, I will dedicate all I do to his memory. He was as near to me as my own family, and he will always be in my heart and mind. He had an incredible impact on all those he knew, and changed me for the better in many ways. I am so very sorry for your loss, and know that your son and brother was loved by countless people. I am sorry I was unable to be there to tell you this in person, and I know that nothing I can say will return Randy to us, but know that he will always be alive in my heart and mind. Semper Fi!

Dear Teresa and family, I was so devastated to hear about little Randy. I remember when I lived down in Steubenville some 15 years ago and you and the kids would come over and when the kids spent the night with me and Tony, we had so much fun. I remember giving my stuffed tiger to Randy because he thought it was cool. I will keep you and the girls in my prayers. I won't be able to come for the service, but please know that I'll be thinking of you guys. Love, Janice, Christine and Kyle

I still have a hard time believing Randy is gone. He allways had a smile on his face and was a great joy to have around. When I first saw him in his dress blues I thought , WOW that's a relative of mine, haha. He made that suit look so good. He was proud of what he was doing for his country and the whole family was so so proud of him. I know that uncle gene is holdiong on to him so tight and watching over us all. We will see them again some day and he will allways be in my thought and prayers. Here's to a fallen hero who left us way to soon. R.I.P. Randy we love and miss you greatly.

Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart your memory lives with me forever in my heart. Randy was the big brother I never had. He was always there when I needed him to say "what's wrong lil sis." The last time I saw him, he told me how proud he was of me and how I came a long way. Randy was an amazing solider and would have been an incredible daddy. To our family, I love you all and I'm very sorry for the loss of our son, brother, father, and husband.

I knew a man called him Randy Heck Few folks even knew his name But a hero was he Left a boy, came back a man Still many just don't understand About the reasons we are free I can't forget the look in his eyes Or the tears he cries As he said these words to me All gave some and some gave all And some stood through for the red, white and blue And some had to fall And if you ever think of me Think of all your liberties and recall Some gave all Now Randy is no longer here But his words are oh so clear As they echo through out our land For all his friends who gave us all Who stood the ground and took the fall To help their fellow man Love your country and live with pride And don't forget those who died America can't you see All gave some and some gave all And some stood through for the red, white and blue And some had to fall And if you ever think of me Think of all your liberties and recall Some gave all And if you ever think of me Think of all your liberties and recall, yes recall Some gave all Some gave all May your spirit be at peace and may you be in the arms of our father.

Randy,he was getting old and paunchy and his hair was falling fast and he sat around the legion telling stories of the past of a war that he fought in and the deeds that he had done, in his exploits with his buddies;the hereos everyone, and tho' sometimes, to his neoghbors his tales became a joke, all his buddies listen for they knnew where he spoke. but we'll hear his tales no longer for YOUNG RANDY passed away and the worlds a little poorer for a solider died today. he will not be mourned by many, just his child wife and family, for he lived an ordinary and quite eneventful life. he held a job and was raising a new family quietly going his own way, and the wolrd wont/note his passing though a solidier passing though a solider died today. with politicians leaves this earth lie in state, while thousand note their passing and proclaim that they were young but the passing of a solier goes unniticed and unsung. is the greatest contribution to the welfare of our land a guy who breaks his promises and cons his fellow man. or the ordinary fellow who,in times of war strife goes off to serve his country and offers up his life. a politicians stipend and the style in which he lives are sometimes disproportionate to the service that he gives. while ordinary soliers who offerd up his all, is paid off with medals and perhaps a pension small. its so easy to forget them for it was so long ago. that the old bulls of our country went to battle ,but we know it was not politiacians, with their compromise and ploys who won forus the freedom that our country no enjoys. should you find yourself in danger, with your enemies at hand, would you want politicians with his ever shifting stand?or would you prefer a solidier who he sworn to defend his home, his kin and country and would fight till the end? he was just a common solier and his ranks are growing thin, but his presence should remind us we may need his like again
