Kenneth Benjamin “Tex” McClain, Sr., 67, of Wintersville, Ohio died Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Palliative Care. He was born May 7, 1938 in Miletus, WV a son of the late Dallas E. and Ruby Nicholson McClain. Tex retired from Weirton Steel Co. tin mill and served in the Army. He attended Wintersville Church of Christ and was a member of Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. Preceding Tex in death were one brother Robert J. McClain; two sisters Leah “Sue” Viltro and Ruth Ellen Vecchione. Tex is survived by his wife Shirley Ann Thompson McClain; son Kenneth B. McClain, Jr. of the residence; daughter Elizabeth (Geoffrey) Byers of Toronto; three grandchildren Keirsten E. & Seth W. Byers and Alissa N. McClain; four brothers Charles E. (Annabell) McClain and Edward J. (Ruth Ann) McClain all of Wintersville; William R. (Judy) McClain of Colliers and Rickey R. (Linda) McClain of Rayland; two sisters Jean (Lester) Burge of New Alexandria and Virginia (Matthew) Trikones of Wintersville; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Friday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.; where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday with Minister Steve Alexander officiating. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct services.
