Obituary For Kathryn Zoe McDowell Schoenfeld

Kathryn Zoe McDowell Schoenfeld of Steubenville passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Valley Hospice North. She was born in Warrren, OH, where she attended schools and graduated. She is the daughter of the late Earl R. and Zoe K. Harsh McDowell. She married the late Paul C. Schoenfeld in 1949. Kathryn was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul C. of 54 years; her son Paul C. Schoenfeld II of Long Branch, NJ; brothers Raymond McDowell of South Greenfield, MO and Paul R. (Miriam) McDowell of Warren, OH. Kathryn is survived by her son Seth E. Schoenfeld (Betty Roberson) of Venetia, PA; daughter-in-law Rebecca E. Schoenfeld of Long Branch, NJ; grandchildren Joshua and Rachel Schoenfeld; half-sister Zoe A. Ambrosio; several nieces and nephews. Kathryn was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Edwin M. Stanton Questers and Wheeling Civic Garden Center. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Friday from 4-7p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1p.m. with Rev. Michael Heckathorn officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

    Seth,We are so sorry for the loss of your mom. We just recently found out. We did not know of her passing. She was such a sweet lady. I have so many fond memories of her and your dad dressing up for Halloween to greet the kids. My kids always looked forward to their Halloween greetings. Ralph tried to help her with the house as much as he could. We will miss her. Again our prayers are with you and your family.
