Katherine J. Porter Reed of Steubenville, OH died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at her home of natural causes. She was born in Smithfield, OH on November 26, 1912 a daughter of the late John M. and Lucy Brown Thrash. She was a member of Wintersville United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by a sister Marguerite Moffo. Katherine is survived by 5 sons George C. Porter of Wintersville, John W. Porter (Mary Sizemore) of Ponta Verde, FL, David E. Porter (Faye Gotschall) of Hopedale, OH, Larry A. (Marge) Reed of Mason, OH and David E. (Rita) Reed of Quarryville, PA, 4 daughters Ruth L. (Donald) George of Wintersville, OH, Hester A. (Michael) Blabac of Henderson, NV, Janice K. Porter of Steubenville and Cathy A. Peterson (fiancee Brad Jenkins) of Steubenville, sister Hester N. Bell of Steubenville, 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9p.m., where funeral services will be on Wednesday 12:30p.m. with Rev.
