Julia “Jay” Mellott – Pleska, 96, of Westerville, OH formerly of Wintersville passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at her home. She was born February 7, 1916 in Webster, PA a daughter of the late Michael and Julia Dziak Fritch. Jay was a member of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Harper Mellott; 2nd husband Michael Pleska; three sisters Ann Kosar, Mary Yashko and Susanna Babela and two brothers Charles and Michael Fritch. Surviving are her daughter Helen (Skip) Bednarczyk of Columbiana, OH; son William “Bill” (Barbara) Mellott of Westerville, OH; four grandchildren Justin Mellott, Dr. Kyra Dawson, Lara Mellott-Curnutte and Abby Jett; two great grandchildren Atticus Mellott and Evie Curnutte; sister Helen Minnick of Wintersville, OH and brother George Fritch of Dixon, CA. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Thursday 6 – 8 p.m. and on Friday at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. with Fr. Gregory Thompson officiating. Parastas service Thursday 7 p.m. Burial at Fort Steuben.
