Julia Maxine Hurand, 85, of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Steubenville died Monday, December 22, 2008 in Kansas.  She was born in Steubenville on March 1, 1923 a daughter of the late Gilbert and Bertha Gatchell McKinley.  Maxine was a member of the former St. Pius X Catholic Church (now Triumph of the Cross), St. Francis Society, Y.W.C.A. and Telephone Pioneers of America. Preceding Maxine in death were her husband Peter W. Hurand; two brothers Wayne & Lloyd McKinley and sister Mary Anita Bickerstaff. Surviving are two daughters Paula (William) Rock of Olathe, KS and Patricia (Robert) Westcott of Ypsilanti, MI; four grandchildren Sara (Scott Stewart) Rock, Tricia Rock, Kai-lyn (John) Schroeder and Kyle Westcott; two great grandchildren J.T. and Carson Schroeder; nieces; nephews; and best freind & sister-in-law Clara Louise “Becky” Bianco.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  Funeral liturgy with Mass will be held on  Monday, December 29, 2008, 2p.m. at Triumph of the Cross (former Holy Rosary) Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Nau as celebrant.  Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
