Joseph W. “Goose” Liberatore 74 of Mingo Junction, OH died Friday, December 5, 2003 at Trinity West. He was born in Mingo Junction on March 19, 1929 a son of the late Vincenzo and Caroline Pizzoferrato Liberatore. He was Catholic by faith, and had been a member of Mingo Junction Eagles and Yorkville American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Goose was a retired car inspector with Conrail, and had worked for Standard Slag in Mingo Junction. He was preceded in death by a brother Jesse Liberatore, sister Mary Fabian. He is survived by his wife Jackie E. Taylor Liberatore, daughters Denise (Chuck) Wilhelm of Homestead, FL, Michele (Larry) Cunningham of Columbus, OH, Carla (Mark) Turner and Paige (Brian) Conaway both of Mingo Junction, step-son Robert (Judy) Kelley of Hawaii, brother John (Eleanor) Liberatore and sister Sue (Rocco) Louisano of Mingo Junction, grandchildren Joseph and Shane Turner, Alison Conaway, Ryan and Ceridwen Kelly. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Ave., Mingo Junction on Sunday 2-4 and 6p.m. until time of services at 8p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Bongart officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to First United Presbyterian Church, Legion Drive, Mingo Junction.
