Joseph S. “Joe D.” Davison, 72, of Steubenville, OH died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Trinity West. Joe D. was born on February 13, 1936 the son of the late Joseph and Ruth McCandless Davison. He was a graduate of Steubenville High School and spent two years in the U.S. Army. He retired from Conrail after 40 plus years as a brakeman. Joe D. was an avid sports fan always backing the Big Red Football Team and the Steelers. Golf was the love of his life and you could find him everyday on the course with his friends. He was a member of Cadiz Country Club, American Legion Post 33, enjoyed playing cards and was a car enthusiast. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth “Betty” Stauffer. He leaves behind a cadre of good and true friends for whom he had uncommon loyalty and love. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Thursday from 3p.m. until time of services at 6p.m. with Rev. Robert Shearer officiating. Burial at Toronto Union Cemetery.
