Joseph Richard Nethers 85 of Steubenville, OH died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Trinity West, Steubenville. Born in Cambridge, OH on September 5, 1917 the son of the late Floyd and Martha Landman Nethers. Preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Nethers and a sister, Betty June Gibbons and step-daughter, Madelyn Lotzgeselle in 1998. Joseph retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co. with 47 years of service as a foreman over the store room. Protestant by faith, he held membership in Unionport Masonic Lodge #333 and Columbus Shrine Club. He served in the U.S.Army during World War II. Surviving is his wife, Sara E. Weekley Nethers at home. Daughter, Carol Nabozny and her husband, Edward of Austinburg, OH. Step-daughter, Marian Bachmieir and her husband, Clay of California. Step-son, Carl David Mosor, and his wife Julie of Washington. 16 grandchildren, one whom he raised, Cheryl Speaks of Jacksonville, FL. And 20 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, OH on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH.
