Obituary For Joseph N. Longo

Joseph N. Longo, 76, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, March, 19, 2019 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1942 in Steubenville, a son of the late Antonio Longo & the late Dorothy Drayer Longo Rock. He was an Army veteran of Viet Nam receiving both the Bronze Star & Purple Heart and a member of Wintersville American Legion Post 557 & DAV. Joe worked out of Laborers Union Local 809.

He was preceded in death by his son Joe R. “Joey” Longo; infant twin brother; brother John Longo and two sisters Jane Belli & Dorris McIntyre.

Joe is survived by his wife Jacqueline “Jackie” Bell Longo; daughter Gloria “Sissy” Reynolds; grandchildren Paige Reynolds, Evan & Eric Longo; daughter-in-law Lindy Longo; canine companion Sugar Mae; sister Della (Chuck) Hartline; several nieces & nephews and best friend Bill Kugler.

The family wishes to thank Tawny and Valley Hospice for their excellent care.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Friday from noon until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Michael Gossett officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.

Hopedale American Legion will provide military honors.

    Dearest Jackie, Paige and Gloria,  words cannot express how sorry I am.  You were such a good wife, mother, sister and granddaughter.  Your love, love from Eric and Evan and Lindey is what sustained Joe.  Know that you will see him again, God promises us of that.  Know that we all love you, Heather sends her love .
