Charlene and Family,I am so sorry I for your loss. As you know, Joe and I were good friends since youth. When I was in the Army and he was at Wake Forest, he invited my buddies and me for a weekend and had a great time. We worked together on the blast furnace and just recently exchanged stories. I attended his service, up from Raleigh, NC. What a great guy, friend and wonderful family. I know you will miss him but some where along the line I remember reading "the moment of parting is the beginning of meeting again." Rest in peace my friend and God bless you. Steve Denty

Charlene and family,     Sending my deepest condolences with sadness at the passing of your husband, father and grandfather.  I worked with Joe in Metallurgy and Quality Control and he was just such a "super" and "fun" person to work with and be around.  He would take the shirt off his back or give up his time to help you with "anything" or make you laugh when you were burdened with work or just down in the dumps!  He will be greatly missed.

Dear Polshaw family, the Hadobas & Polshaw families came to the US from Hungary from neighboring villages and my grandmother and mother were dear friends to Joe's grandparents. I haven't seen Joe since my mother's passing , but I know the Polshaw's were so proud of Joe's accomplishments as well they should be. Joe made all the Magyars proud. God rest his sweet soul and prayers for the family.Mary Franckhauser ( Peg and John) Knight

Our sincere thoughts and prayers to the entire Polshaw family. The name Joe Polshaw was also mentioned with such love and respect by my parents Bill (Moon) & Saundra Slocum. He was family in our eyes. He recently had re connected with my parents this past year and that meant the world to them. Unfortunately, my mom passed away this past July. Joe reached out to my father on several occasions although very sick himself to raise his spirits and also wrote the kindest, sweetest most heartfelt letters to me and my sisters detailing his lifelong friendship and childhood history with my parents. Our parents survived a lot and had some hard times growing up together for a total of 68 years but their lives were blessed and enriched by many lovely and great human beings like Joe. We feel you're loss here in Columbus and send much love and peace. Sincerely, Bill (Moon) Slocum and family 🙏🏻

I love you pap, more than words could ever ever say. You have taught each and every single one of us what strength and courage is. There was never a day that you complained, you were selfless and had the biggest most giving heart. Though I wish I could give you a huge hug I know that one day we will meet again in heaven. I thank Jesus that you are not suffering or in pain, I thank Him for bringing you home into His arms. You were always known everywhere you went because everyone loved you. I will always be proud to call you my pap and I pray I have, made you proud and will continue to do so. I love you & I miss you. We will take care of nana, while you watch over us in heaven. 💜☀️

To the entire Polshaw family I send my deepest sympathy - please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers - A short story about "Coach" in 1966 I was in the 8th grade at St. Peters and Joe was our baseball coach- after he arrived at North End field for our first practice in a red mustang we all were like man this guy is cool - over 50 years has passed and I still remember his coaching during batting practice and base running I still can see him as a first base coach where before I entered the batters box he said "Timmy here is the signals if I grab my belt buckle I want you to bunt - if I turn and walk towards right field its hit away" - ever since then and even most recently if we ever ran into each other I always referred to him as "Coach" - May he rest in peace

My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the whole Polshaw Family. Joe was a true friend and schoolmate. I always looked up to Joe, not because he toward over me, but because he was a gentleman in all he did and he always had time for the little guy, like me. His parents were always great to me and my brothers. Although I left home , to join the Navy at 18, Joe never forget me. When I ran into him at 70+ he remembered me like I left yesterday. I was better knowing Joe and I will never forget him or the rest of the family that I knew- John , mother and father. God Bless You Joe and God speed.
