Obituary For Joseph J. Pierro

Joseph J. Pierro, Sr., 94, of Steubenville, Ohio died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Sienna Woods. He was born December 7, 1917 in Steubenville a son of the late Vito & Lucia Pace Pierro. He was a retired B.O.P. pipefitter at Weirton Steel Co. and a member of Holy Name Cathedral. Joe was a WWII Army veteran having received both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service. Preceding Joe in death were his wife Anna M. Moio Pierro on July 6, 1996; brother Ralph Pierro; sisters Antoinette Eroshevich, Carmel Antinone, Margaret Cordaro & Christine Calabrese.Joe is survived by his children Cindy (Larry) Davin & Diane (Thomas) Graham both of Wintersville; Joseph J. (Sue) Pierro, Jr. & Mark E. (Sandy) Pierro both of Mingo Junction; grandchildren Mark J. (Heather) Pierro, Taresa (Greg) Piofer, Michael (Shelly) Pierro, Tiffany (Bill Elm) Pierro, Pilar Davin & Kayla Graham; great grandchildren Michael, Juliana & Tia; and sister Liz DiPaolo.Private services were held on Saturday at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home with Rev. Bradley Greer officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
