Joseph Gabor, 88, of Wintersville, Ohio died Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Trinity West. He was born December 21, 1917 in Brilliant, Ohio a son of the late Anthony Gabor and the late Elizabeth Foldie Gabor Kovach. Joe was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. electronics department and served in the US Air Force during WWII piloting P-38s over Burma. He was a member of Wintersville U.M. Church and Steubenville-Weirton Amateur Radio Club (call letters WA8WEQ). Preceding Joe in death were two brothers George Kovach and Charles Kovach. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Josephine R. Giusto Gabor whom he married September 12, 1939; daughter Darlene (Robert) Woods of Wintersville; one granddaughter Danielle (Mark) Monreal of New Port Richey, FL; twin great grandsons Robert Joseph & Austin James Monreal; three brothers Louis Kovach of New Alexandria, Steve Kovach of Rayland, and Frank Kovach of Steubenville; and two sisters Susie VanDaine of Texas and Priscilla (Sam) Flohr of Bloomingdale. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben where Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct services.
