Joseph G. Malesick, Sr., 73, of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Trinity West. He was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio on April 4, 1932 a son of the late Steve and Anna Sharro Malesick. Joe was a retired craneman in the 80 Inch Mill at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a member and former deacon at Starkdale U.P. Church; Jefferson County Sportsmans; Weirton Moose Lodge 688; National Slovak Society #38A and AFL-CIO. Joe was an avid sportsman. Preceding him in death were a brother David and two infant sisters. Joe is survived by his wife Henrietta DiPietro Malesick, whom he married on November 14, 1953; children Joseph G. (Kathy) Malesick, Jr. of Athens, Ohio, Judith (Wayne) Byers of Bloomingdale, Kevin R. (Carol) Malesick of Steubenville, Karen Malesick of New York, NY, and Valorie (Lonnie) Malesick-Culp of Bloomingdale; five grandchildren Amanda Malesick, Kara Welch, Michael Malesick, Chanel and Lonnie Culp; brother Steve (Aldene) Malesick of Canonsburg, PA and sister Edna Harrison of Weirton, WV. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.; where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Randy Sells and Rev. John Zuercher officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung or Kidney Associations.
