John W. Pierce, 77, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Brightwood Center. He was born on July 10, 1944 in Steubenville the son of the late William W. & Dessie Reynolds Pierce. He retired from Weirton Steel Co. machine shop and was a member of the 25 Year Club. John was a member and served as Tyler for Steubenville Masonic Lodge 45 F&AM and was a founding member of the Ohio Valley Mopar Club. Preceding John in death was his wife Elsie Florette Tate Pierce, whom he married on January 7, 1965 and she passed away on November 6, 2011.
John enjoyed recreational shooting, model railroading and the car cruise community. He loved working with his hands, fixing things and tinkering.
John is survived by his son William “Willy” Pierce and daughter Wendi (John) Crabtree.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville, on Wednesday 4-7 p.m., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Frank Haas officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
Masonic services 6:30 p.m. Wednesday
