John Thomas “Buddy“ Mills Sr., 71 of Mingo Junction, OH died Friday, February 11, 2005 at Trinity West. He was born in Steubenville on September 27, 1933 a son of the late James R. and Gladys G. Jenkins Mills. Buddy was a retired motor inspector from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co. and Methodist by faith. He held membership with the Columbus American Legion Post #888, V.F.W. Post #80 and ABATE of Ohio. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Preceding Buddy in death were his wife Melva Arlene Hess Mills; sister Shirley Mills and grandson Jonathan Aldridge. Surviving are his children Darlene Hunt of Mingo Junction, Susan (John) Lawson of Steubenville, Marsha (Larry) Aldridge of Maple Heights, OH, Brenda (Craig) Mayle of Mingo Junction and John Thomas Mills, Jr. of Steubenville; two brothers James (Juanita) Mills and Jessie Mills both of Mingo Junction; two sisters Mildred Stewart of Mingo Junction and Nancy Moore of Steubenville; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday with Pastor Charles Shoe officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct military services at the cemetery.
