John Raymond “Ray” Dossett 90 of Steubenville, Ohio died Wednesday evening, January 8, 2003 at the home of his son in Somerset, Ohio. He was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio on February 5, 1912 a son of the late Cecil Raymond and Lenora Ann Carey Dossett. Ray was a charter member of Buena Vista U.M. Church; Pilgrim Lodge 691 F&AM which he joined in 1953 and served as Worshipful Master in 1961; Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville; Jefferson County Genealogical Society. He was also an amateur ham radio operator using call letters “N8FFH”. Ray retired in 1976 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. as a maintenance supervisor. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth V. Dossett on June 26, 1997; one brother Elbert Dossett and one sister Virginia Vincent. Surviving are three sons C. Raymond (Charlene) Dossett with whom he resided, Richard Dossett and Gene (Sharon) Dossett of Glenford, Ohio; one brother Robert (Kathryn) Dossett of West Mifflin, PA; his beloved niece Susan Michalak of Toledo, Ohio; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Glen Perdue officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Masonic Services 8 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Buena Vista U.M. Church.
