John P. “Jack” Barrett, 87, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away Friday, August 24, 2007 at Palliative Care. He was born August 22, 1920 in Mingo a son of the late Harry and Grace Denning Barrett. He retired in 1984 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. quality control labs. Active in church and community affairs, Jack was a member of St. Agnes Church and St. Francis Society. A charter member of Mingo Lions Club, he actively participated as club secretary and monthly newsletter editor/publisher for many years. A beloved husband and uncle, Jack is survived by his wife Christine Polsinelli Barrett, whom he married September 27, 1952; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother William H. Barrett and sister Dorothy Maul. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Sunday 7-9 p.m. and Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. On Tuesday, friends may call at St. Agnes Church from 9:30 until time of funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. with Rev. James Dunfee officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Agnes Church. Vigil service 8:45 p.m. Monday.
