John L. Windon, Sr. 72 of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Trinity West. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on Janaury 30, 1932 son of the late Zina and Iva Pearl Hardman Windon. John was Methodist by faith and a member of Dip & Dive Square Dance Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy L. Barker Windon on March 13, 2004 and son Ricky Lee Windon on January 1, 2001. After 45 years of service, John retired from Weirton Steel Co. as a foreman in the tandem mills. John is survived by three sons Gary (Pat) Windon of Mingo Junction, John L. (Lisa) Windon, Jr. of Wintersville and Michael (Kathy) Windon of Fayetteville, GA; two daughters Terri Windon of Westerville and Lori (Kurt) Kale of Jewett, Ohio; daughter-in-law Jean (late Ricky Lee) Windon of Mingo Junction; twelve grandchildren Erin Windon Wallace, Brianna Windon, Robyn Vittek, Kelly Walker, Steven Windon, Penny Jo Long, Jason Windon, Brett Windon, Kailee Jo Kale, Kassandra Kale, Vance Windon and Leanne Windon; and great grandson Austin Long. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
