Obituary For John K. Foley

John K. Foley, 81, of Steubenville, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at Trinity West, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born on July 21, 1934 in Steubenville, Ohio the son of the late Harry and Irene Plant Foley. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. John held church membership at Starkdale Presbyterian Church where he served on the property committee and enjoyed playing darts in the church basement. He retired from Titanium Metals with 35 years of service in the shipping department. An avid golfer, John always enjoyed a round of golf at the former Belleview golf club. He is survived by his wife Dolores “DeDe” J. Richards Foley whom he married on June 23, 1954, daughter Linda (Joseph P.) Nocera and son John (Dora) Foley both of Steubenville, five grandchildren Nicholas (Alison) Nocera of Columbus, OH Courtney (Michael) Murphy of Marion, OH Zachary (Allison Myslinski) Nocera of Pittsburgh, PA Shannon and Jensine Foley of Steubenville, OH two great grandsons Liam and Connor Murphy, brother Clifford (Loretta) Foley of Wintersville, OH and sister Hazel (Francis “Bugs”) Bonafede of Mingo Junction, OH and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m., and Thursday at Starkdale Presbyterian Church from 10:30 until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Philip Markari officiating. Burial to follow at Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Charity Hospice, 500 Luray Drive, Wintersville, OH 43953 or Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, OH 43952.
