John James Barker 91 of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at his residence. He was born in McDonald, PA on March 26, 1913 a son of the late John E. Barker and Gertrude A. Smith Barker Kaufman. He was a retired machine shop foreman at Weirton Steel and an Army veteran of WWII. John was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Mens Club; Steubenville V.F.W., Elks and Moose Lodges; American Legion Argonne Post 33; K of C Council 472; and past president of 25 Year Club. Preceding John in death were a stepson Sam Jackson and three sisters Mary West, Margaret Swearingen and Wilma Dear Swearingen, John is survived by his wife Emma Jean “Jeanne” Jackson Barker; two daughters Marjorie Ann (James) Spellacy of Lakewood, Ohio and Christina (Joseph) Mitchell of Wintersville; stepdaughter Deborah (James) Johnson of Steubenville; stepson William Jackson of Follansbee; 13 grandchildren; 47 great and 2 great great grandchildren; and sisters Gertrude Kendrach of Mingo, Helen Losey and Clara Childers both of Wintersville and Rita Chichila of Bradenton, FL. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church with Msgr. Gerald E. Calovini officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. St. Francis Society Rosary 2 p.m. Friday Vigil services 3:45 p.m. Friday
