John E. Elliott, 83, of Steubenville, Ohio died Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Trinity West. He was born in Steubenville on June 29, 1923 a son of the late John M. and Elizabeth Myers Elliott. He was a former management employee at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and retired as an area sales manager for Quaker Chemicals. John was a graduate of Ohio State University and a member of Steubenville Country Club and B.P.O.E. He was a WWII veteran. Preceding John in death were his wife Lila J. Spung Elliott on October 3, 2000; two brothers James M. Elliott & Warren G. Elliott; and a sister Ruth M. Steinmetz. Surviving are his son J. Michael (Sharon) Elliott and daughter Sandra (Russ) Grimm; grandchildren Lindsey Grimm (Bruce) Knight, Jared (Kerri) Grimm, Chris Elliott and Brooke Elliott; and one great granddaughter Skyler. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. at Starkdale Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Philip Makari officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
