John C. “Jack” Terpenning, 77, of Bloomingdale, Ohio died Friday, July 7, 2006 at Gables Care Center. He was born November 14, 1928 in Steubenville a son of the late Raymond and Ella Mae Kidd Terpenning. A graduate of Wayne High School, John served in the US Navy. He was a retired wireman from Weirton Steel, member of 25 Year Club and former member of Belvedere Fire Dept. Preceding John in death were two brothers William R. and Raymond Terpenning; sister Betty Walrath. John is survived by his wife Irene C. Eggett Terpenning; daughter Patricia (Richard) Calabrese of Bloomingdale; three grandchildren Kristina (Keith) Denman of Cortland, OH, Jason Calabrese of Sidney, NE and Jennifer (fiance George Speakman) of Lewis Center, OH; great grandson Cole David Denman; two brothers Paul (Violet) Terpenning of Bloomingdale and Fred Terpenning of Jewett; three sisters JoAnn Meenely of Jewett, Sandy Terpenning of Steubenville and Linda (Lyle) Gross of Warren; and sister-in-law Betty Terpenning of Wintersville; several cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. John McCoy officiating. Burial at St. Pauls Cemetery, Weirton, WV Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct services at the cemetery chapel.
