Obituary For John C. Findlay

John C. Findlay 83 of Lewisville, TX formerly of Amsterdam, OH died Saturday, June 8, 2002 at Autumn Care, Lewisville, TX. He was born in Bothwell Hawgh, Scotland on August 24, 1918 the son of the late David and Mary Collins Findlay. Member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Steubenville, OH, Steubenville Masonic Lodge 45 and a 32 degree Mason, Member of LaBelle Chapter Order of Eastern Star #414, past patron of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Wheeling, WV. Served in the Marine Corp during WWII. Retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, after 43 years of service, where he was a crane operator in the BOF, Mingo Junction, OH. Proceeded in death by son John D. Findlay (died: 11/11/1992), brother Thomas Finley. He is survived by wife Sophia Shepherd Findlay, daughters Judy (Raymond) Ford of Lewisville, TX, Priscilla (Paul) Baily of Mentor, OH, brother William (Betty) Findlay of Florida, sister Martha Shannon of Steubenville, OH, grandchildren Kimberly Krantz of Dallas, TX, Linda (Martin) Puussaar of Shaker Heights, OH, Eric Ford of Lewisville, TX, David Baily of Cleveland, OH, great grandson Samuel Puussaar. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Wednesday 7-9 P.M., where services will be held on Thursday at NOON with Fr. Rade Merick officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH. Masonic service 7:00 P.M., Pomen services 8:30 P.M. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct services at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 528 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, OH.
