Obituary For JoAnn Virginia Moore

JoAnn Virginia Moore, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 29, 1942, in Steubenville, Ohio, JoAnn was the daughter of the late Peter and Lucille (Vario) Buffone. She attended St. Anthony’s Grade School and Catholic Central High School, where she developed the deep-rooted values of faith, family, and community that guided her throughout her life.

On June 20, 1964, JoAnn married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Brian Moore. Together, they built a warm and loving home, raising five children. JoAnn was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, a special aunt, and a dear friend to many. She was known for her creativity, especially in crafting, and for the love she poured into every homemade Italian meal. Above all, JoAnn will be remembered for the unwavering kindness and unconditional love she gave to her family and friends.

Her legacy lives on through her children: Brian Moore (Kristin) of Alpharetta, GA; Kevin Moore (Anne) of Decatur, GA; Monica Enes (Jeff) of Irvine, CA; and Scott Moore (Stacey) of Ada, MI. She was a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren—Matthew Moore (Sarah), Nicole Hughes (Chris), Alexander Moore, Hutson Moore, Ashley Moore, Beatrix Enes, and Eloise Enes—and a proud great-grandmother to Adelyn and Wyatt Hughes. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who adored her.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Theresa Ann Moore; her parents, Peter and Lucille Buffone; her sisters, Mary Vallera, Anna Walkosky, and Lucille Buffone; and her nephew, Paul Walkosky.

A private service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, OH with interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Steubenville Catholic Central High School c/o JoAnn Moore Memorial 320 Westview Ave., Steubenville, OH 43952.

To Brian,Scott,,Monica, and Family, Joanne was a wonderful wife, an extraordinary mother. She treated all of Scott's friends as if they were own, spoiling them, whenever they were in her home She was also a go- getter, hard worker, to say the least An Angel now in Heaven Helen Giometti
