Joan Mae Kelley, 82, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 with her loving family by her side. She was born March 15, 1937 in Parlett, Ohio a daughter of the late Louis & Lena Wilson Smith. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey “Bucky” Bertram and three siblings Evelyn “Toots” Devore, Louis & Robert Smith.
Joan was a country girl who enjoyed the simple things in life. She was the sweetest little thing with the warmest smile and the prettiest blue eyes that would warm your heart. Joan enjoyed being with her family, watching Westerns and playing Bingo, Bunco and cards with her daughter.
Joan is survived by her son and best buddy William “Willy” Bertram, with whom she resided and who took care of her day and night; daughter Cathy (John) Needham; many nieces and nephews who will miss her very much.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon with Rev. William Westling officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben.
The family would like to thank Wilma DiCerio for her loving care over the last two years and also Randy, Bonnie and Shelley of Valley Hospice at Trinity West.
