Joan J. McDonald Davis, 84, of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Trinity West. She was born in Steubenville, OH on November 11, 1931. Preceding Joan in death were her husband Robert J. “Bob” Davis; son Thomas Scott Davis; father Edward G. McDonald; mother Melda H. Sanders Strickling; stepfather Clyde Strickling and infant brother Jackie McDonald. Surviving are her children Cheryl (Steven) Purvis of Appling, GA, Karen (Doug) Anthony of Mingo Junction, OH, Richard Davis of Toronto, OH, Nancy (Michael) Rupert of Wintersville, OH and Linda Rupert (fiancé Albert Chappano) of Mingo Junction, OH; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Per Joan’s wishes there will be no visitation and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to any animal shelter or to the Wintersville Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 2448, Wintersville, OH 43953.
