Joan H. Copeland, 91, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Trinity West. She was born in Clarksburg, WV on December 21, 1930 the daughter of the late Curtis and Helen Aegan Harris.
She was a member and deacon at Starkdale Presbyterian Church; former Ohio Valley Hospital Advisory Board; Heather Twig; and Neighborhood House.
Preceding Joan in death were her husband Dr. Louis G. Copeland on December 31, 2010; son Curtis B. “Chris” Copeland; grandson Robert L. Copeland and brother Fred Harris.
Joan will always be remembered as loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was always caring about others.
Joan is survived by her son Jeffrey (Debra) Copeland; daughter Kimberly A. (Jeff) Criss; grandchildren Steven (Krysten) Criss, Dr. Caitlin Criss and Dr. Cara (Bryan LaBrake) Copeland; three great grandchildren Katie, Kendall and Dominic; and brother Frank Harris.
Friends may call at Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, Ohio 43953, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon. Burial at Fort Steuben.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Urban Mission Ministries, 311 N. Sixth Street, Steubenville, Ohio 43952 OR Jefferson County Humane Society, P.O. Box 233, Steubenville, Ohio 43952.
