Jessie Mae Matthews, 96, of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Sienna Woods surrounded by her family. She was born in Rush Run, Ohio on August 7, 1917 a daughter of the late Hayes M. and Xenia Bell Wilburn. Jessie Mae attended Harmony United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband William W. Matthews; two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her children Donald (companion Donna) Matthews of Washington, PA, Dorothy Dehnart of Kouts, IN, David W. (companion Shirley) Matthews of Wintersville, OH, Earl C. (Patricia) Matthews of Bellaire, OH, Ronald Dean Matthews of Wintersville, OH, Betty Jean Ruttencutter of Bloomingdale, OH and Joyce (Jim) Rine of New Alexandria, OH; 17 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 24 great great grandchildren and friend Shawn Brodie of Wintersville, OH. Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville Thursday 4 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Friday 10 a.m. with Pastor Sam Davis officiating. Burial at New Alexandria Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sienna Woods for their kindness and care.

WE WILL MISS JESSIE AS A VERY GOOD LOVING NEIGHBOR AND A SPECIAL FRIEND. IN YEARS AFTER BILL PASSED WE WALKED AND ENJOYED EVENINGS WALKING WITH MY MOM.
