I would like to remember my friend Jeffrey Allen Bertram. We had a saying, "friends till the end". I loved him. I will miss him. I'd like to offer my condolences to the family, his mother, and sister Cathy whom he loved dearly and talked about fondly often with tears in his eyes. He loved you guys. I've known Buck since we were both 5 years old. He was my first boyfriend and very first kiss when we were in 6th grade over beside the firehouse behind some bushes. That's all we did was kiss, one little kiss. We formed a bond then that no one could take away from us. He used to say that I was Jenny and he was Forest Gump. He recently called me up late one night when Forest Gump was on TV and told me to watch certain parts and how much it reminded him of how he felt about me. That same night he told me he was dying and how things were different this time. that he wasn't long for this world and we both sobbed. I took him a Thanksgiving dinner (Gee. I wonder how many he had). but on that night he gave me a little plastic heart. He said, "I want to give you my heart, something to remember me by". The truth is I will never forget my friend, Jeffery Alan Bertram. Even though he could be cantankerous, obstinent, and impossible, he was a character, hard to ignore, easy to love. He had a good heart, my children loved him. I have so much more I want to say but it's getting hard. I want to pick up the phone and call him. I can't believe he's not there. I loved him,I miss him. God, if you're there take my friend, Jeffrey Alan in your arms and grant him the peace and serentiy that he never knew on this earth. Love and Peace to the family and know that he was loved greatly by some of us while on this earth.
