Obituary For Jeffery J. McDevitt

Jeffery J. McDevitt, 52, of Mingo Junction, Ohio died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Trinity West. He was born October 9, 1962 in Dennison, OH. Jeffery was catholic by faith. He graduated from Steubenville High School, was an Army veteran and worked in maintenance for HUD. Preceding Jeffery in death were two sisters Katherine E. and Jodi. F. McDevitt; maternal grandparents Jerome and Helen Connors and paternal grandparents Robert and Jane McDevitt. Surviving are his parents John T. and Judith A. Connors McDevitt of Steubenville, OH; sister Kim (Jeff) Oplt of Naples, FL; niece Emily Oplt of Naples, FL; special aunt Joyce White of Mingo Junction, OH; aunts and uncles Robert and Gertrude McDevitt of Colorado Springs, CO, Richard and Joan McDevitt of Columbus, OH and Russell and Paula McDevitt of Dennison, OH and his beloved dog Cocoa. Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 4 – 7 p.m. and on Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church from noon until the time of the Funeral Liturgy with mass at 1 p.m. with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Spina Bifida Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation, PO Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43276-5117.

    Offering my condolences. I had the pleasure working with Jeff for the past 10 months. He always had a smile on his face. I will truly miss him. Jeff was a great friend and a hard worker. My prayers go out to the family.

    It is with a heavy heart that the Muhammad family offers our condolences for your loss. Jeff was my best friend and he loved my girls. They would always scream "Uncle Jeff!!" whenever they seen him. He will be sorely missed. Our prayers go out to your family and we hope you find comfort in the Lord.
