Janet Lee Giffin, 68, of Unionport, OH died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Trinity West, Steubenville. She was born June 16, 1940 in Unionport, OH the daughter of the late William E. Giffin and Leona V. McNemar Giffin of Unionport, with whom she resided. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Joyce Giffin. Janet was a member of Unionport United Methodist Church where she was very active in Sunday school. In addition to her mother she is survived by two brothers, Donald (Susan) Giffin of Bloomingdale and Gerald Giffin of Unionport; two sisters Linda Jean (Richard) Brownlee of Bloomingdale and Carolyn K. (Dave) Taylor of Wintersville; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 1-3 & 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. Rev. Debra Kellar and Rev. Hubert Granger to officiate. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be directed to Unionport United Methodist Church.

We are so sorry for your loss. Although, I didn't see Janet that often, she was always so happy and friendly and gave the tightest hugs. I know my dad had very found memories of her growing up and my Grandma (Pauline) always told me funny stories of her. Your(our) family is in our prayers!
