Obituary For Janet Ann Polverini

Janet Ann Polverini, 65, of Follansbee, West Virginia, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Trinity West. She was born April 29, 1950 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Judge Mele & Frances Chaijkowski Vukelic. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother John Vukelic and several aunts & uncles. She was a graduate of Steubenville High School and West Liberty State College and Serbian Orthodox by faith. Janet was known for tutoring children of all ages locally. For over 15 years, she was the driving force of the annual Jefferson County Animal Welfare League fund raiser, and was loved by all.

Janet is survived by her husband Daniel and their daughter Linda Polverini; siblings Michael Vukelic, Nancy (Gerald) Firman, David (Teresa) Vukelic, Steve (Cheryl) Vukelic, and Mary Ellen (Bill) Freiling.

Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. On Wednesday, friends may call at Holy Resurrection Serbian Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. with Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.

Pomen services 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The Vukelic Family strongly suggests memorials be directed to Jefferson County Animal Welfare League.

    Hello, I do recall you, thank you for thinking of dad and I. We are still rather at a loss of words. Yet I am present and participating. dad and I extend our deep sympathy, shock and gratitude to you. mom and dad were prepping for me for their demise or decline so while the last 3 to 5 years were filled with serious health problems for mom, dad and I. I am convinced forevermore in our faith in a risen Lord who provides and gives back what as lost...I am truly only wanting to walk with the Lord. May mercy be at our right side and grace at our left as the Lord keeps our foot from slipping. We are loved of the Lord Jesus and we belong to him first. He will keep us.

    Hi Linda I don't know if you remember me or not but I lived on Ridgeland Drive when you and your family lived there. I remember you brought me up a pecan pie which was so thoughtful. I'm so sorry for your loss. I really liked your mom and ran into her a few weeks before she died and we talked and I told her I loved her hair. She really was a great person and I know she is in heaven. My deepest sympathy to you and your dad and family. I pray that God will comfort you through these days ahead. God bless and take care.
