Jan was so kind, gentle, loving, sweet and innocent. She was always so happy and she loved our Lord Jesus with all her heart. Back in 2009 my mother was just placed in Sienna Woods Nursing Home and it took me a couple weeks to get moved back home from Atlanta. My mother also had early onset Alzheimers so she didn't know names of any visitors she had when I talked with her on the phone daily, but she told me about a friend of mine that came to pray with her often. One day I ran into Jan at Sienna Woods and she said "Hi Monita, I knew Darlene was your mother because of the picture that I saw on her dresser of the two of you and we really had a great time praying together with her big beautiful smile." She melted my heart. I hugged her and thanked her with tears in my eyes. I was so worried those couple weeks about my mom being all alone till I could get back and Jan went to see her everytime she visited Sienna Woods for the rest of my mothers life. To me and my mother, she was an angel from heaven. She will be very missed. Till we meet again.

I was honored to have been able to work with Jan at the Children's Academy for several years. During that time, I got to see the soul of someone so compassionate, caring and selfless. She thoroughly enjoyed the children's company in our care and they gave her so much joy, not that she already didn't have buckets of her own joy stored up constantly!! Sometimes I would drive her home, and we would talk about God and our faith and wow, did she love Jesus!! Her heart was in God and her church and all of her friends. Jan, I love you and I am going to miss you!!

Jan was a sweet and kind person who never had a mean word to anyone. She was truly God's child. Now she is with Him and forever in His arms. Jan loved to joke with my husband about their differences of football teams. Lol. She was the type of person that the first time you met her you were drawn to her kind personality. We will miss seeing you each week at church Jan but we know you are now in a beautiful place. RIP my dear friend.

I first met Jan in high school at JVS and then again when my niece and nephew played Upward basketball at Crossroads. She was still the same, sweet and friendly Jan with a smile that could light up a room. The kids loved her and she loved them, that was easy to see. While I am saddened to hear of her passing, I know that the work she did on earth is now being rewarded in heaven. Prayers for her friends, family and church family, she was a blessing to all.

Jan was always laughing, she never stopped smiling which made you want to smile. I have known her pretty much all my life and she has been a person anyone should want to strive to be. Jan always came up to my kids at church and talked to them and me and I just loved her beautiful spirit. This world will not be the same.

Jan was my friend and my coworker at The Childrens's Academy. She was such a nice person. Always smiling, always happy, always helpful. Anytime any of us needed a day off, she was always willing to step in and substitute. She never said no to anyone. She loved being there, because she loved those kids like her own. And all the kids loved her, therefore she will be greatly missed and not just by the kids, but by the parents as well. But as much as she loved kids, she loved Jesus too, so now she is with him. R.i.p Jan! We will miss you! ❤️

When I worked in the Wintersville Children's Academy I had the privilege of being Jan's co-teacher. Her patience and kindness with the children was incredible. She always had a smile on her face that was so contagious you couldn't help but to smile with her. I learned so much from Jan both in life and in the classroom. We always had fun. She will forever be loved and I will miss her dearly.
