James W. “J.R.” Melko, 41, of Bloomingdale, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016. He was born September 18, 1974 in Steubenville, OH. James was a 1992 graduate of Mingo High School. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He was a member of the Mingo Sportsman Club and the Jefferson County Sportsman Club. Preceding James in death were his wife Edith V. Dodson Melko; father James M. Melko; paternal grandparents Michael & Kathleen Melko and maternal grandparents Willy & Virginia Menzel. Surviving are his mom Cathy V. Menzel Melko of Wintersville, OH; sister Michelle (Allan) Whanger of Steubenville, OH; aunt Connie Tolman of Brilliant, OH; nephew Josh Stephen of Bloomingdale, OH; niece Taylor Stephen of Mingo Junction, OH; great niece Tiegan Chaffee and two cousins Ginie Lee Tabler and Seana Kourin. Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Saturday from 4 - 6 p.m.

J.R. Was a great guy who was my dad's best friend. He was always there to help whenever help was needed. I've know J.R. since he worked with my mom for years and he will be sadly missed by my family, especially my father.
