James W. “Brigham” Young, 71, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born November 21, 1946 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late John and Edna Fleming Young. Jim was a member of Mingo Sportsman Club, Knights of St. Anthony and American Legion Argonne Post #333. He coached Babe Ruth League baseball and was an avid NASCAR and Steubenville Big Red fan. Jim retired from the City of Steubenville where he worked in the water department. Preceding Jim in death was his sister Gladys “Cookie” Antill. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, whom he married December 19, 1970, Connie J. Sellers Young; two sons Jimmy (Tracey) Young of New Alexandria, OH and Shawn Young of Follansbee, WV; five grandchildren Shawn Michael Young, Jenna Young, Abbey Young, Katie Young and Michael John Dolak; two brothers Robert (Noreen) Young of Steubenville, OH and Eddie (Rita) Young of Steubenville, OH; sister Phyllis (Gary) Bickerstaff of Steubenville, OH and brother-in-law Dick Antill of Stratton, OH. Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home, 611 N. Fourth St., Steubenville on Thursday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Friday 10 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Ernst officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
