Obituary For James W. Halstead

James W. Halstead, 84, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at The Province of Wexford in Warrendale, PA. He was born March 12, 1941 in Wheeling, WV the son of the late Clyde W. Halstead and Mary Belle Pietrangelo.

Jim was a member of Wintersville Methodist Church, Steubenville Masonic Lodge 45, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, Aladdin Shrine of Columbus Ohio, and Boilermakers Local 154. He also taught scuba diving from 1982-1991 at Millsop Center.

After 29 years of service, Jim retired from USAF in 2001. Master Sergeant Halstead proudly served his country in Vietnam, Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Bosnia.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Patricia J. Halstead. Surviving are his daughter Jamie M. Littell; son Michael J. Halstead and two grandchildren Brooklyn S. Littell and Tanner S. Littell.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Monday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of Masonic services at 5:45 p.m.

Funeral Service at 6 p.m. with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating.

Private burial at Cadiz Union Cemetery.

    I remember Jimmy at the 171st Maintenance Operation Center where he worked. I use to talk and tease him a little while waiting for the pilots to come in for debriefing. I was the avionics specialist and Jimmy would ask about the problem I was about to debrief. We had fun teasing each other...

    Sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was such a great man and always willing to jump in and help the Shriners whatever they needed. He truly will be missed. Rest in peace buddy.

    Very sorry to hear this news. Jimmy was behind my class at CHS . Always very positive friendly & engaging. I am sure he will be greatly missed by all including CHS Alums.
