James S. “Jim” LaRosa, 75, of Wintersville, Ohio died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Palliative Care Unit. He was born in Eldersville, PA on March 24, 1930 a son of the late Jim and Antoinette Lamanna LaRosa. Jim was co-owner and operator of Sew Vac in Steubenville. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and K of C Council 472 in Wintersville. Jim served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Preceding Jim in death was his sister Mary Anzalone. Surviving are his wife Josephine R. Lamantia LaRosa; three sons James D. LaRosa and Kenneth (Kathy) LaRosa both of Philadelphia, PA and Edward J. (Mary Liz) LaRosa of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; four brothers Frank (Jeanette) LaRosa and Anthony “Tony” (Dolores) LaRosa both of Weirton; Richard (Elaine) LaRosa of Fort Myers, FL and Sam Boni of New York City; three sisters Jeanette Martin and Angie (Bill) Needham both of Steubenville and Delores (George) Fuller of Lorain, Ohio; several nephews and nieces. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. K of C Rosary 7 p.m. Tuesday and Vigil service 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to American Heart Association or Blessed Sacrament Church.
