James S. “Jim” Jackson, 69, of Mingo Junction, Ohio died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Trinity West. He was born March 22, 1938 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Roy J. and Lillian Klarner Jackson. Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mingo Junction, OH; Mingo Fire Department and Steubenville Masonic Lodge #45. He retired as a caster from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and was a Marine veteran. Preceding Jim in death were his brother Donald Jackson; sister Marian Underwood and three grandchildren Mason, Emily and Kaitlyn Jackson. Surviving are his wife Ruth A. Shaw Jackson; four children James “Jake” (Sherry) Jackson, Jr. of Mingo Junction, OH, Katherine “Kathy” (Michael) Thomas of Bloomingdale, OH, Margaret “Maggie” Jackson of Steubenville, OH and Michael “Mike” (Carrie) Jackson of Madison, OH; sister Martha (Robert) Fisher of Madison, WI; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Ave., Mingo Junction Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where a service will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Thomas officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben where Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will perform military honors. Masonic service Tuesday 7:45 p.m. Memorial donations may be directed to Mingo Junction First United Methodist Church, 201 St. Clair, Mingo Junction, OH 43938
