James Robert Fitzgerald 42 of Virginia Beach, VA died Friday, June 13, 2003 at his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on June 20, 1960 and graduated from Wintersville High School in 1978. After serving 21 years, he retired as a First Class Petty Officer in the US Navy. He was a former member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Wintersville, Ohio. Jim was preceded in death by his father George William Fitzgerald; grandparents Henry and Mildred Lloyd and Cornelius and Anna Fitzgerald. Surviving are his wife Victoria L. Schweizer Fitzgerald; one son Matthew James Fitzgerald; two daughters Diana Rose Fitzgerald and Cheryl Lynn Fitzgerald; and grandson Damien all at home; his mother Rosemary Lloyd Fitzgerald of Wintersville; and six brothers Neal of Canton, Ohio, Michael of Birmingham, AL, Gregory (Terri) of Richmond, OH, John (Tina) of Chantilly, VA, Charles (Shirley) of Corinth, TX and William (Tracey) of Sayville, NY.
