Dr. James Joseph Petrola, 61, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his late father’s residence in Wintersville, Ohio. He was born in Steubenville on April 22, 1960, a son of the late Dr. Frank L. Petrola and the late Carol A. (Rinaldi) Petrola. He was a 1978 graduate of CCHS. He received his first Bachelor Degree in Business from the University of Akron and then a Physical Therapy Degree from Cleveland State University. Jimmy then continued his education and received his Doctorate Degree in Physiatry from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Upon his retirement from private practice in Florida, he resided in Seven Hills, Ohio.
Jimmy is survived by his siblings Dr. Frank (Jackie) Petrola, Carol (Anthony) Guida and Barbara Petrola; two loving aunts; nine nephews; two great nieces; cousins; and many special friends and patients.
Jimmy was a very kind and loving soul. He touched and blessed so many with just his sweet presence in their lives. He had a very generous, giving and trusting heart. He always took care of those in great need without hesitation. His Great Faith in The Lord always guided and directed his life. His simple desire in life was to be an obedient Servant of Christ. We know he has greatly fulfilled his God Given Purpose. Rest now our dear precious brother in the loving arms of Our Lord and Savior. Your Reward Shall Be Ever So Great In Heaven. Until we are together again, You Will Be Forever Loved and Missed Beyond Measure.
Friends may call at St. Peter’s Church, 425 N. Fourth St., Steubenville, Ohio on Tuesday, December 28th, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral liturgy with mass at 11 a.m. with Rev. Timothy Huffman officiating. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The Petrola Family would like to thank Valley Hospice for their compassionate care and suggests that donations be directed to Valley Hospice in Jimmy’s memory.

To Frankie, Carol Jean and Barbara,No words can convey our sadness on the passing of your brother Jimmy Joe. He was a bright light during my childhood and I have so many fond memories of spending time with all of the Petrola children . Jimmy Joe was the son my Mom and Dad never had. He will be sorely missed.
