James J. “Jim” Pusateri, 80, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at VA Hospital, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA. Jim was born in Steubenville on June 20, 1934 the son of the late Charles R. and Rose Lamantia Pusateri. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, August “Augie” and Paul Pusateri. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a graduate of CCHS class of 1952. Jim loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army. Jim retired with over 44 years as a Pickler from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co. and was presently working as a groundskeeper at Steubenville Country Club. He is survived by his wife Monad I. Winland Pusateri whom he married on August, 1962, son Charles (fiancée Laura) Pusateri of Winter Haven, FL and daughter Carol Lynn (Doug) Pusateri of Minneapolis, Minnesota; four grandchildren Dorothy “Dori”, Harmony and Jamey Pusateri and Craig Harnagel; two great grandchildren; a brother Charles (Cathy) Pusateri of Unionport and a sister Mary Sawon of Steubenville.Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday from Noon until 1:30 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated Thursday at 2 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wintersville with Msgr. Kurt Kemo officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Leukemia Society.
