James Joseph “Joe” Bloomfield 79 of Steubenville, OH died Monday, December 31, 2001 at Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville, OH. He was born August 1, 1922 in Steubenville the only child of the late Harold James and Elizabeth Harrison Brittle Bloomfield. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, James J. Bloomfield Jr. in 1968. He was a WWII Army veteran serving from 1943-1945. He was retired from Weirton Steel Co. where he was employed for 37 years. He was the loving husband for 55 years of Lois J. (Dunn) Bloomfield whom he married June 29, 1946 and the loving father of Karen M. Jacob of Richmond, OH and Gary W. and wife Paula Bloomfield of Covina, Calif. and Mrs. Jimmie W. (Delania M.) McKinney and Mrs. Jesse K. (Lisa M.) Woodland Jr., both of Steubenville, OH He was also the loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral home, 215 Fernwood Road, WINTERSVILLE, OH on Thursday from 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. Pastor Bethel Bateson to officiate. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH Ohio Valley Veteran’s Memorial Squad will conduct military services at the cemetery.
