James H. Kirk, 96, of Steubenville, Ohio died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at the home of his son Terry. He was born September 5, 1909 in Fernwood, Ohio a son of the late James H. and Jennie R. McCoy Kirk. Jim retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. hot strip department and was a member of Spring Hills Golf Club, Swingin Seniors, Big Red Boosters Club and the former Herdman Bros. Bowling Team. He was Episcopalian by faith and an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Preceding Jim in death were two brothers Walter and John Kirk. Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years Wilma F. “Billie” Stone Kirk, whom he married February 28, 1941; son Terry L. (Lois) Kirk of Steubenville; three grandchildren Lorra (Rob) Cochrun, Shawn Kirk and Sheila (Jeff) Caniff; and four great grandchildren J.J., Anastasia, Justin and Alexander. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jason Elliott officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
