James F. “Jim” Combs, 88, of Wintersville, OH passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Valley Hospice North. He was born in Kanawha County, WV on July 5, 1935 the son of the late
Frank J. Combs and Garnet M. Moore Combs Kiser. He was a member of the Church of Christ for over 60 years and most recently the Minksville Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the Air
National Guard of WV for 6 years and retired from American Electric Power after 39 years, where he retired from the Cardinal Plant, Brilliant, OH in 1995. Jim was a lover of Mozart music and
airplanes. He was often seen at Wintersville Airpark, where he hangered his airplane “Creampuff”. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister Peggy Combs; step-
fathers Roscoe Betts and Cline Kiser; daughter-in-law Wanda Peirison Combs; brothers-in-law Robert Summers, Carl Johnson, Stanley (Mildred) Hundley, Mason Hundley, Robert Hundley, Jerry
Dale Hundley, Sherman Vealey and Ernest Chappell; sister-in-law Rosie Hundley Vealey.
Jim is survived by his wife Carol June Hundley Combs; they were married over 64 years; daughter Diane
C. Combs of Wintersville, OH; son David A. (Mary) Combs of Kingston, TN; sister Jean Anne Johnson of St. Albans, WV; brothers-in-law Holley (Leona) Hundley and James (Norene) Hundley
both of Michigan and Charles (Sue) Hundley of Virginia; sisters-in-law Wavie Chappell of Beckley, WV, Lovie (Jerry) Ruloff of Virginia, Millie Hundley and Freda Hundley both of Michigan;
granddaughters Kayla (Jonathan) Iusan and Sierra Walker; grandson Josh Wilson.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Tuesday,
November 14, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 1p.m. with Minister Robert Main officiating. Burial will follow on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Good Hope Cemetery, Victor, WV.
