James F. "Rip" Mason 66 of Steubenville, OH died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at Trinity "Vest ER, Steubenville. He was born in Waynesburg, PA on July 4, 1936. He was a retired millwright at Veirton Steel Co; member of the 25 Year Club; US Army veteran and an avid square dancer. James was preceded in death by his mother Pansy Violet Mason Merrill in 1997 and two step-grandchildren Michael Lamp and Rachel McDole. Surviving are his wife Jewel Virginia Joy Mason; one daughter Tammy (Robert) Jenkins of Grove City, OH; stepfather Wilbert Merrill of Steubenville; one stepson Johnny Nation of Louisiana; three stepdaughters Martha (David) Wright and Denise (Jerry) McDole both of East Liverpool, OH and Jenny Lamp of Alabama; two brothers John (Marilyn) Merrill and Gary (Donna) Merrill both of Steubenville; one sister Alice Vucjak of Steubenville; two grandsons Timmy and Matthew Jenkins; eight step grandchildren Tyrone, William and Steven Wright; Beck and Jessica McDole; Julie, Edward and Megan Lamp; four step great grandchildren; and his Aunt Virginia Boisko of Lancaster, PA. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday from 2-4 and from 6 p.m. until time of services at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jack Jackson, his brother-in-law officiating.
