Obituary For James A. "Jimmy" Hilderbrand

James A. “Jimmy” Hilderbrand, 50, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA with his family by his side. He was born January 15, 1965 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Harold and Mildred Monigold Hilderbrand. Jimmy graduated from J.U. High School and Jefferson County JVS in 1985. He was the owner of Hilderbrand Service Station and U-Haul. Preceding Jimmy in death were his brother William Hilderbrand and nephew Sgt. Cory Robert Barnes. Surviving are his wife Tasha R. Leasure Hilderbrand; two sons Michael and Braeden Hilderbrand; brother Harold (Sheryl) Hilderbrand; twin brother David (Mary) Hilderbrand; three sisters Deb (Arnie) Glover, Betty Jo (Sam) Gubanez and Jeannie (Tom) VanCamp; father-in-law Harold Leasure; sister-in-law Denise VanGilder and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Tuesday 4 – 7 p.m. where a service will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Proya officiating. Burial at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the family c/o Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, PO Box 2250, Wintersville, OH 43953.

    Jimmy, I just wanted to say that I may have only known you for the last 10 years but the first time I came into the station to get some work done I could tell how great of a guy you was after that I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else thru the years we had alot great conversations also I will never forget about how I used to make fun of you everytime I would see you because the top of your head always had cuts on it from banging your dam head Lol.     I remember the happy go lucky kid I grew up with, who always had a smile on his face and kindness in his heart. I've heard of the many people you've helped out when they didn't have enough money to pay their bill and I'm not surprised.     My prayers for the friends and family. I didn't get the chance to get to know Jim well. Only had work done Twice out at the shop. It was very quality work. He took me in straight off the street to do the job. And he was a very fair mechanic. My hope is that God's Holy Spirit will bring comfort and wrap Jesus' arms around all enduring this sudden heart breaking tragic loss. God bless you all and please draw close to Him for that comfort. He knows Your Grief.
